Delaney...what a trooper!

We finally did the long-awaited kidney surgery for Delaney's reflux! She did AMAZING! We ended up staying one night in the hospital due to a little complication they had during the surgery, but we tried to make a fun, girls' night out of it (in between the sleeping and nausea)! She's coming back strong, with a positive attitude and a one inch scar on her abdomen to show for it...pretty cool! (It helped to know many people we know also have scars!) She really didn't complain, and the nurses and drs at the MN Children's Hospital were fabulous! They really made it a great experience for a kid! The smiley face on her left side is to ensure they did the proper kidney...apparently a MN hospital just surged someone's improper kidney, so the drs. are very thorough about confirming that!! :)

White Easter!

It's true...we had snow on Easter this year. So much for the open-toed, white sandals!! We made the most of it though. The outdoor egg hunt tradition lived on, just with some snow boots on this time! After the kids stomped around for awhile, out came the shovels to help find the eggs that had gotten buried! It was fun.

Topsy Turvy Land

Delaney had her first grade performance of Topsy Turvy Land tonight! She did a GREAT job! As you can see, she was a penguin proudly singing "Peter Penguin". It was really well done and she was a star!

Puddles!!!

So, with the 50 degree weather outside (Yahooooooo!!), Hol took the boys out to do some stomping in the rapidly melting snow! Elliot was a little late on grasping the concept, so after he had been completely soaked by Cole's endeavors, he decided to join in! They LOVED it! When we got home, not only were they both soaked (thanks, in part, to Elliot taking a header into a puddle), but Cole's boots were filled with part of each puddle he stomped in! :)

Back in the Groove...

Well, after a mean bout with the stomach flu last week, we are back in the groove around here! Cole and Elliot got hit pretty hard with the nasties! Mom had to cancel a trip to see Uncle Todd, which was cause for many tears.

On a funny note, at lunch today, Elliot went into the kids' cupboard and pulled out a cup for each of us (except mom...she rarely sits for lunch anyway!). He placed one at each spot, pointing out who it was for: Dada, Coco, Sis, Bubba (himself). He even got the sippy kind for himself! Cole was rather impressed with the whole process! He also likes to play games with us. Cole and mom like to play many games in a week! Today, Elliot would take the dice when it was his turn, roll it, then hand it to mom. Good start! :) Cole is especially good at the matching game, where you flip two over and try to match them. When mom forgets where they are, he says, rather degradingly, "Mom!"...like, why can't you remember where the cards are?! He usually whoops us when we play games.

Jr. Executive

I found Ellliot sitting at the computer the other day, doing a little writing, while watching the Cars movie. Check out the crossed legs! :)

Snow Mobile Extreme Sports!

Does this look sketchy to you?? :) Mommy obviously wasn't with us when Daddy attempted this activity! (We think it was worth it!) Yep, those are our two, little heads peeking out of the sled!!

Embracing Winter...

Delaney and Cole are taking snow skiing lessons this winter, which is really fun! They're doing great and really enjoying them! This nifty, little moving sidewalk carries them up the bunny hill, dumps them at the top, and they bonzai down! Amazing how fearless kids are, really. Elliot...he's happy just eating ice cream! :)

Grandma's Visit!

Grandma was able to come out for a visit, which was wonderful!! She braved the freezing weather and sick kids to spend a week in our routine! (Both of those things have been with us now for a few months!) She got to see the kids' ice skating expertise, as well as ride the roller coaster and play a little air hockey with Cole!
